This year has seen an acceleration in the pace of product development at SparkLayer, with over 30 updates released in the last quarter alone! Almost all of these updates have stemmed from real-world feedback from our 1500-strong customer base, driving our mission to help them grow their B2B businesses.
Today, we’re ready to announce the launch of two major updates to SparkLayer, both of which have generated significant excitement from our customers… and arguably two of the most requested features in the last year: B2B file uploads and inventory location support. Let’s dive in and explain what they are.
B2B file uploads
Within B2B eCommerce, it’s often a requirement for end customers to supply additional details when placing an order. Perhaps they need to supply a purchase order or details relevant to the products they’re ordering, such as customisation details or branding information like a logo upload.
Our new file upload feature gives our customers the tools to capture these details with a super simple way to add files during the B2B checkout process. Check out our video below to see it in action!
In addition to uploading them at checkout, end customers can even upload files at a ‘product level’ to individual products and product variants. You can learn more about how this works in our full guide here.
Inventory location support
As brands scale their operations and build out more advanced inventory management processes, it’s very common to see multiple ‘locations’ where inventory is managed. This could be based on geographic location (eg by country) or by more niche use cases specific to a brand’s internal workflows, like routing stock based on what type of customer is ordering.
Our new ‘inventory location support’ feature allows brands to specify which locations they want their B2B customers to use stock from, rather than using inventory from an ‘overall’ inventory amount.
This gives brands a much more granular way to control how their inventory is managed across their B2B operation and brings a whole variety of benefits, including a more streamlined inventory management system, fewer issues with inventory running out, and more.
