Created in 2013 in London with a mission to inspire a love of glasses, Cubitts rapidly found their way into the hearts of the nation - and beyond. Now selling globally, and across B2C and B2B, Cubitts have become the go-to for quality, stylish spectacles.

The challenge

With an extensive catalogue that includes multiple product variants, each offered in various colours and sizes, managing inventory and pricing had become a complex task for Cubitts.

In addition to their diverse product offerings, they faced the challenge of maintaining fixed, consistent pricing across different countries - unaffected by fluctuating exchange rates. Manual price updates were time-consuming and increased the risk of errors or inconsistencies. Cubitts needed to maintain a fixed price and required a way to manage this automatically rather than making manual updates in line with local conversion rate changes.

The solution

By implementing SparkLayer, Cubitts gained control over their complex pricing structure. Using multiple CSV price list uploads, Cubitts can now maintain consistent pricing across various markets without requiring constant adjustments. By setting up price lists for each country, they can ensure that exchange rate fluctuations won’t affect their fixed prices.

They’re also able to assign price lists on a customer group basis, making it easier to manage currencies and conversion rates in real time. By streamlining the CSV upload process, SparkLayer enabled Cubitts to efficiently manage their extensive lists without the need for repetitive manual updates, improving operational efficiency.

They’ve also hugely benefited from being able to maintain their existing Shopify platform while adding additional wholesale functionality. The integration has proven to be a huge time-saver, speeding up manual processes and streamlining their operations. Using the ‘B2B’ tag within Shopify ensures they only pull relevant customers through to their SparkLayer-optimised storefront. This control over who has access to specific pricing has been important during Cubitts’s new website launches.

The results

Since implementing SparkLayer, Cubitts has transformed their pricing management processes, saving time and improving operational efficiency. The control provided by SparkLayer’s order rules and pricing management features has allowed them to preserve stock for B2C customers while managing large-volume B2B orders.

SparkLayer’s order rules feature has been invaluable for Cubitts. With the ability to set minimum and maximum order quantities directly on price lists, Cubitts can now ensure sufficient stock levels across both B2B and B2C operations. This level of control prevented stock depletion from a single large order and allowed them to safeguard inventory for their retail customers. They’ve been impressed with the ability to avoid product depletion of their most popular frames, meaning they’re offering enhanced customer service.

With our Support & Onboarding team firmly embedded in this partnership, Cubitts have enjoyed high levels of adoption within their teams. They’ve been able to quickly make changes themselves, as well as have ongoing access to our teams to support with anything more technical or involved.

SparkLayer’s real-time flexibility has enabled Cubitts to make adjustments as needed, from product visuals to pricing rules, without delays. Customising product images and adjusting minimum order requirements were additional features that allowed the team to deliver a better shopping experience.
